Replacing Teeth

Bridges

Bridges provide a fixed way of replacing missing teeth by attaching a lifelike, porcelain crown to the adjacent teeth. The number of teeth that can be replaced depends on the number and condition of the adjacent teeth.

A bridge is usually made out of porcelain or a combination of porcelain with a precious metal alloy framework for increased strength.

Bridges can:

  • Restore your smile
  • Restore the ability to properly chew and speak
  • Maintain the shape of your face
  • Distribute the forces in your bite properly by replacing missing teeth
  • Prevent remaining teeth from drifting out of position

Maryland Bridges

Maryland Bridges offer a fuss-free alternative to implants, with very little preparation of surrounding teeth required. Using specialised dental adhesives, we are able to secure the bridge in place generally without the need of local anaesthetic. There is also no need for us to expose the inner part of the tooth, which minimises the risk of sensitivity after the procedure.

As this treatment eliminates disruption to adjacent teeth, it is completely reversible. However, due to our capabilities, the removal of Maryland bridges often isn’t required, as they typically blend in with the rest of your teeth extremely well!

Maryland Bridge is an affordable alternative to implants in replacing missing teeth. If you would like to know more, make an appointment today with our detents.

Dentures

Dentures are a removable option for the replacement of one, a few or all teeth.

Partial dentures are retained by clasps to the remaining teeth. They may be made of acrylic or have a metal framework for strength, precision fit and comfort.

When all of the teeth have been lost then full dentures can restore your confidence and your ability to chew and eat.  Full dentures are never as secure as your own teeth and may require additional retention to be provided by implants.

Implants

Implants are the closest thing available to having your own teeth.

Dental implants can be an effective method to replace one tooth, or several teeth. Simply put, an implant is an artificial device replacing the tooth’s root. Each implant consists of a titanium anchor that is inserted into the jawbone to which a crown or bridge is attached. An implant can replace a partial denture or secure a fixed denture.

Today’s dental implants allow solid, secure function coupled with a great looking set of teeth!

  • Natural-looking, secure alternative to dentures or partials
  • Restore your smile—replace one tooth, or an entire set
  • Feels and functions like natural teeth
  • Zero movement—a comfortable and permanent solution for tooth replacement
  • Does not involve adjacent teeth.
