Dr Emma Picton has over 15 years of general dental experience both in the United Kingdom and Australia. After graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree (B.ChD) in 2004 from the University of Leeds, she worked in the United Kingdom for 3 years before relocating to Australia in 2007. Since then she has worked in Sydney, Perth and has been at Smile On Vincentia since 2014.
Gideon graduated in 2006 in his home country of India with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree, excelling in the specialities of Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics. After a few years in private practice, he completed the Australian Dental Council accreditation process in 2010.
Emma enjoys providing general dentistry including cosmetic dentistry, crown and bridgework on patients of all ages. She believes in providing professional and gentle dental care to all patients in a relaxed and comfortable setting.
Outside of work she enjoys walking, cooking and travelling with her husband and daughter.
He has never ceased to educate himself, including having obtained accreditation in providing Invisalign clear aligner therapy. He was accredited by the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry in 2012 and is pleased to be able to offer dental implant therapy to patients.
He completed a two year program in 2017 to become a Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. Gideon continues to attend various courses in Australia and overseas to broaden his horizons and sharpen his dental skills.
His special interests are orofacial management of Sleep Apnoea in adults and breathing disorders in children. He also has a special interest in the management of myofascial pain and jaw joint disorders through the use of neurotoxin therapy.
On a personal level, Gideon enjoys playing cricket, reading and spending time with his young family.
Born and raised in Sydney, Dr. Ash completed his training as a Doctor of Dental Medicine at Sydney University. Prior to this, he earned a degree in Biomedical Engineering, where he engaged in using computer software to model dental implants and orthodontic treatments. While studying, Ash worked as a dental nurse for six years and found being in front-line healthcare to be highly rewarding. After graduating from Sydney University’s dental program, Dr. Ash lived and worked in the beautiful coastal regions of Port Macquarie.
Dr Aisha Butt was born and raised in Melbourne. A graduate of The University of Melbourne, Aisha moved to live and work in London. After graduating there she gained valuable experience in cosmetic dentistry, children’s dentistry, crown and bridge and endodontics (root canal).
For over a year now, Dr. Ash has been serving the Shoalhaven district and has become a greatly welcomed member of the SmileCo dental team. He takes pride in being on the front line, meeting and genuinely caring for his patients’ oral health. Known for his exceptional clinical and chairside manner, Dr. Ash ensures that all dental needs are thoroughly understood by his patients and that appropriate treatments are offered and completed to an exceptionally high standard. He continually seeks to expand his skills through ongoing education and training in the latest dental techniques.
Dr. Ash’s treatment philosophy is simple: provide care to all of his patients as if he were in their position. He performs almost all types of general dentistry, with particular interest in the prevention of dental disease, restorative work including long-lasting dental crowns and bridges, complex root canal therapy, and surgical extractions. His friendly and understanding nature makes him a Favorite among children and highly anxious patients, and he ensures that the dental team does everything possible to accommodate all patients’ needs.
Outside of work, Dr. Ash stays active by maintaining his fitness and going on adventures with his five-year-old large Golden Retriever, Oli. He enjoys playing and keeping up with the latest technologies. To completely switch off, Ash is either meditating or in another country near Australia travelling and immersing himself in other cultures.
In 2014, Aisha completed a restorative certificate from the Eastman Dental Institute in London which focussed on conserving teeth to the highest standard according to the latest research.
Returning to Australia in 2015, Aisha completed further training in Endodontics with the Australian Dental Association and Orthodontics certificate with the University of Sydney. Also, Invisalign and Angel certified. Aisha has a friendly demeanour alleviating anxious patients. Her interests are cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics and root canal treatments. She is well known for putting anxious patients at ease and loves to chat with her patients alongside treating them!
She lives in the Illawarra region and her favourite past time is embarrassing her son and annoying her husband.
